We have two outdoor lanterns. One is like this: http://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-60W-PIR-Wall-Lantern-Black/p/702846 and the other is like this: http://www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/6-sided-black-lantern-with-pir-737685

(both similar style but difference in where PIR is located).

One covers the right hand side of the house and the other the left side. Each one only comes on if there's something that triggers the PIR.

What I would like is for both to light up if either one of them is triggered. Is this feasible?

As mentioned the only way to work this is to run a cable from one of the pir units to the next light fitting.

The PIR unit in that fitting becomes redundant.

Best situation would be a stand alone PIR central to the light fittings, and a feed from there to each light bypassing the intergrated PIR in each.

Yes, you will need another wire between the two, though.

Is a wire from one to the other easy to fit? Probably not.

Actually quite feasible. There's a feed from the fusebox to a ceiling rose. One spur goes to one light and one goes to the other. I reckon I could add a wire quite easily.

Oh right, that sounds lucky.

It would be better to replace the cables with 3 core & earth if you could do that.

I may be wrong, looking at the light , im not sure you can access the pir wiring easy to do whats intended

The one in the second link is easily accessible

the first may be more difficult.

Some lights are made like that, only LN&E terminals. It may be possible to access the switched live output, but you may need to partly disassemble the light to do it.
