Got a problem with the heating side on our Glow-worm 30ci combi boiler not turning off even when room stat clicks off. The only way we can shut off the heating is to run a hot tap for about a minute.

This problem only seems to happen when we set the room stat above 16 degrees. 16 or below is fine.

Room stat is a Drayton Combi-stat and this is only about 6 months old. (previous one developed a fault)

You need electrical tests to show if there is still a call for heat!

Update: heating came on last night even though the room stat was on zero.

Can you put your location in your profile?

Where abouts is the boiler fitted?

Boiler is in the loft.

Downstairs - Drayton Lifestyle timer & Drayton Combi-Stat.

Disconnect the room stat from the boiler, use the boiler temp control only.
If all works ok look towards the wireing or stat fault.

The boiler in the loft can get cold at night and that will initiate a frost protection operation.

The boiler probably just runs the pump at 5° C

But at 2° C it will bring on the burner!

There is always a possibility that the calibration of the boiler temp is a little out.

See what the outside temperature is when the boiler comes on when not called for!
