Glow Worm 70ff 'software fault' code

Hi all, noob needing help please

After reading a few posts on here, i investigated the fault further by dropping off connectors for gas sov, turning off gas and all showed same fault.

As I am a inquisitive electrical engineer I whipped off a the main cover, and saw that the igniter just stuck under the burner cover plate.
Removed the cover plate and saw a 'comb' from the heat exchanger shorting out the igniter. Pic attached
So I have only removed two screws and replaced a cover.. Any safety issues?
Will get a gas safe service done soon, is the comb dropping of a sign of a tired boiler?

That's a heat exchanger baffle. Quite what it was doing where you found it is a mystery. Get your boiler checked out asap.
What "software" fault, and what is a gas sov?

SOV.. Solenoid valve.

Baffle is corroded so guess it fell down onto igniter.. House was empty for 7 months...
