gripfill me shoes

you need something flexable like contact adhesive and a spotless grease free roughened surface area to have any chance
any other repair will last minuits to a few days

Sigh, consensus is clearly this is gonna be a disaster (not that I really care that much) cheap shoddy pair of boots anyway... humph!!

But thanks to you all for the confirmation that what I suspected was a poor idea, will in all certainty prove to be the case. Oh well.. can but try with what you have available!

silicone might be better as it flexes

Thanks, sounds reasonable, but of course I've aleady no more nailed it and I have a strong feeling this is a one shot deal :D

as i said contact adhesive will work providing its clean grease free and roughened as that is what shoe repair shops will use

you could also try rubber solution that comes with an bicycle inertube repair kit

Bit annoying ... I think I have a bit of that somewhere.. oh well..

I'm thinking that G/F won't really be any good in something that gets a lot of movement and flexing.

That's the principal problem , the movement. Silicone has been mentioned and I've had a colleague try that too. At the time the firm we worked for supplied us with cheap **** poor Chinese boots and there were quite a few where the soles came adrift. Unfortunately the silicon fared little better , the problem there seemed to be one of poor adhesion to the boot materials. A rubber solution glue of some sort may have been a better option but frankly nobody wanted to spend anything on poorly made boots.

Well, as rightly predicted.... an unmitigated fail! 15 mins.. ahh gotta try these things I guess.

Try Thixofix or UHU contact adhesive - it lasts a lot longer.

Of be a good boy and perhaps Santa will bring you a new pair.

Stop encouraging him!!....they have gone in the bin and I bought him new ones

So his subtle plan worked then Di?

Does he realise he has to buy you a really expensive pair of shoes and matching handbag in return? ;)
