Is it possible to get pre made rebar boxes to put into the ground for a reinforced concrete ground beam? If so any pointers as to who to go to in northwest london or surrounding areas? I'd be looking at 500x300 "with full anti heave" for a 6m x 6m extension (so three walls of 6m total including joints!)

Or how easy is it to be able to create a 500x300 box by a competent but never worked with rebar diy'er?

All you need is a good vice and a meter or so of 1" steel piping.

Then bend a batch of hoops the size you want. About every 18"s or so.

Then place your lengths of re-bar unto a couple of trestles and feed on the hoops, space them and tie up.
Now feed in the bottom lacers and tie, then the sides and tie. Crown ties are best and steel fixers wire is best. Set of knipex end cutters are handy too.
It might need an angle piece to stop it collapsing though crown ties usually hold well.
Now its ready for lifting into the trench with the crane.
Simples.
