Grundig gu19wdvd3 - dvd problems

I have a Grundig TV which I bought for my daughters birthday 2 years ago and the integrated DVD player is not recognising the disc now and keeps rejecting it.
We have misplaced the manual and so would appreciate any input if anyone has had this fault themselves could they cast any light on any possible remedies
