I have a Halsted Aces High, it is about 5 years old.

It has worked fine until recently (had 2 new diaphragms) and the central heating works fine all of the time.

The issue is the hot water, when a tap is turned on the boiler kicks in straight away and produces hot water, then within 15 seconds you hear the switch trip and then the water runs cold, leave it a minute and the boiler will heat up again and then follow the same cycle until you turn the water off.

The issue has become progressively worse over the past 2-3 months, I have a homecare with British Gas but wanted to check here before I fork out on a call out.

Thanks

It sounds like a blocked plate heat exchanger.

This may not be covered by Brit Gas on your arrangement.

Nor do I understand why you have to pay them to come out.
