My old Wickes HD Staple gun has finally worn out but cannot decide which new one to get, another of the same from Wickes, which now has an adjustable pressure or the DeWalt 350 from Screwfix which also seems to get a lot of good reviews, if they can be trusted..

Any first hand recommendations on either ? use - general all round.

I have a T50 elite arrow top of the range job and to be quite honest it's pants, struggles with marine ply / roofing membrane......it was £50 when I brought it but now going for £25 probably for a good reason as I found out.

My brother who is a plasterer uses these: http://www.screwfix.com/p/stanley-heavy-duty-stapler-nailer/53860

daily use for fixing beads etc.....he's also had one of the T50 arrow ones which died in about a week, but the stanley was found to be better in terms of firing power, I will be get one when mine dies.

I purchased one of these electric staplers.

It is rubbish. It has a quick release for the firing pin, but all too often the pins/staples get stuck in the side of the firing pin meaning that you have to find a very thin screwdriver to try to dislodge them.

I also have a Silverline stapler that I use with my compressor. It is even worse.

Like Vards01, I too have a t50. The firing pin just slips when you press down on the trigger. It had only been used for about 8 hours (plywood on timber boards).

Please do let us know if you find a decent one.

Went for another Wickes own Heavy Duty one as linked above, though the new one is rather different internally, now with adjustable pressure etc.

They do their own staples for this gun at a good price, so no messing around trying to find the right type.

Only used it for stapling underlay to a chipboard floor so far, no problems and it feels good, hopefully for another 10 years like their last one ..:)

I have the Faithfull stapler....

Which fell to pieces the first day I used it. When I separated it for the rebuild there was about 50-60 fiddly parts and had a part left over which was a fault by Faithfull.
Been using it for days now without issue. I wouldn't recommend it unless you are savvy with a metal jigsaw for when it falls apart.
I knew arrow hadn't anything better to offer so the two hours it took me to do the strip down and rebuild and make some changes was well worth it.
And it is by far superior to the Arrow hammer stapler which I also have. Easy loaded and has a wide flange that prevents cutting.

Arrows loading system is rubbish.
