I'm hoping to acheive this so as to not have to buy as much oil this winter.
I've read a lot about the Dunsley neutraliser and wondered if it would be possible to improvise one.
My system at present is fully pumped, vented, oil fired CH and DHW. The CH off one side and the DHW off the other. The big question is can I take both these systems off one side of the boiler ( and still independantly pumped ) and fit the woodburner into the otherside, thereby using the oil burner as the neutraliser. A pump will be used from the woodburner to the oil on a low return thermostat and a stat used on the oil burner to activate the CH pump at high temps. I will also plumb in a gravity rad as a heat sink.
Will this work?
