Hi,

Looking to replace missing/incorrect adado rail but don't know where to start looking. Property is a Victorian (approx 1890) and in Staffordshire - might help!?!

Figured best thing is to try and name what I have. Not sure if there are 10 or 10,000 different styles but posting photos in the hope someone can help.

Upstairs and downstairs
measures approx 3 inches

Thanks for looking

very much doubt your be able to get that off the shelf.
either try a reclamation yard to see if they have anything or inquire about having it made up,but i suspect that wont be cheap.

reubin78, hi.

As gregers, a local reclamation yard is a possibility?

These Dados are as diverse as the Builders who originally constructed the property, the one you have could have been made in several ways, best guess is one of two ways.
1/. The entire Dado could have been run in one or on a series of linked Spindle moulders.
2/. The Dado is in fact a series of individual component each spindle moulded and a assembled.

As a DIY project, you would have to get a router, then source correct router bits to form the shapes you see and slowly build up the various shapes you need to form the overall shape.

Yes a good competent joinery manufacturing firm will do it but at a cost.

Next problem is that the Dado you have here is covered with a load of paint, getting a true match is not easy.

could be miles out here but looks like 3x1" with 2x1" planted on top with 1 or 2 cutter combinations for the 4 edges
is the moulding around 69x44mm??
