Hello everyone been using this site for the past couple of years and I have received some really useful DIY tips, here's hoping that can be continued.

I am currently refurbing my en suite bathroom, the good lady would like an illuminated mirror fitted. I would like to know if I can use the wiring from the shaving socket to power the mirror, would just be a case of re routing the cable as I have plasterboard partition walling, and are there any safety points I should be aware of?
The shaving socket is on the lighting circuit and is a twin and earth cable. My house is 10 years old with a modern RCD consumer unit.
I haven't purchased the mirror yet was hoping to get one with an independent on off switch or one that is touch sensitive.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks everyone for responding had been looking at the demister mirrors, any suggestions for a decent site to buy from.

May even be handy to keep the existing shaver socket as well as having the new mirror light.
