Hi all

I have to replace my room thermostat but I can't understand the wiring diagram on the new stat.
The old stat was a Sunvic TLX9201 with 3 wires connected.
Brown wire to terminal 1 (com) blue wire to 4(N) and green/yellow wire to 3 (demand). Terminal 2(satisfied) had no connection.

The new stat is a Honeywell T6360 and looking at the wiring diagram it shows L to terminal 1, N to 3, heating load to 2. and a hatched line labelled cooling load to 4. Am I right to assume that 1 is brown wire, 3 is blue wire, and 2 is green/yellow wire.

Any help appreciated as the wife reckons Winter is here.

Thanks

What sort of wire? is it grey T & E or flex?

Sound like it using cpc / earth wire as a switch live.

Hi Stardanny

Thanks for the interest, it's twin and earth

Hi Stardanny

Then it's using cpc / earth as a switch live. Do not do that.

Replace the cable with 3 core and earth. Get a sparky in.

Rob, stat will not work correctly without neutral.

Dan.

I have inherited this wiring, so what coluor should it be covered with, black?

red/brown

you shouldnt be using it is the correct advice

but seeing as you are you might as well give any poor bugger that goes anywhere near it in the futre a fighting chance

Best to ask in Electric Forum.

CPC / Earth cannot be used for live conductor.

It will need a new 3 core and earth. No other way.
