Our elecricity bills are v high and Im wondering if the immersion heater is causing this. we have v hot water late pm and its still hot enough for a shower at 10pm- but the central heating boiler only heats water for an hr in the morning it. im wondering if the immersion heater is running?? although this is switched off at the Economy 7 box ( we dont have E7 BTW ) would the central heating control use the immersion heater to maintain water temp? the cylinder thermostat is set at 50 degrees and is wired into the central heating wiring centre. the tap water is so hot at 6pm you cant keep you hand under it ! thanks

The CH wouldn't normally be connected to and control the immersion heater, no. If the CH isn't heating the cylinder then only the immersion heater can be, time to get a Spark in and check the connection and get it moved onto a standard fused spur.
