Welcome to the forum.

I really do try not to be a pedant but your post is hard to read. A few simple rules will really help us read your posts. Using a capital letter at the start of a sentence and full stop at the end should surely be a minimum standard for any poster. Your post reads much better with just a few minor modifications:

Hi. I am doing my NVQ3 in plumbing. If a regular heat-only boiler overheats and shuts down and the flow leaving the boiler is very hot and the return pipe is cold or lukewarm - this shows that water is not circulating. First port of call is to inspect if the f/e tank is okay - or if it is a sealed system see if there is enough pressure. Second would be to check if the pump is running and third would be to assume an airlock might be present. Have i got this correct? Thank you. Basic i know, but we have all got to start somewhere.
