hot water not hot!

hi

i have a very old boiler and it's been working fine until this winter, i can't seem to get hot water (it's a mild water and not hot enough for a wash) some times out the blue it will be scalding, but most times it's a nightmare....

can anyone help???

What boiler? system or combi?

it's a valliant d 5630 boiler and the heating system is a baxi - it's not combi

check you've got water in header tank (ball valve may be stuck)
