The appliance fills with water and heats but the wash pump is not pumping water through the spray arms properly (a teeny amount dribbles out of the holes)
The pump makes a very loud noise (sort of rattling) machine is 18 months old so not too impressed

Is this a duff pump or something else

Yep duff circulation pump,easy to do unclip the base and twist off from the heater . Impellor broken off the pump done loads of them ,
 
I took the pump off to have a looksee in the end and the impeller is still on the armature but the armature comes out of the winding housing with the impeller as a complete unit. (looks like the kakky whirlpool/diplomat/prima pumps that act similar)
When reassembled it rattles like mad,

Heaters are prone to go as well ,
nice and easy to do ,all ones I do less than a year so far this year 32 pumps , 19 heaters , don't buy one there crap .
