First of all are you sure the bearings have gone ??

The machine makes horrific noises while turning slowly and at speed and there is considerable movement when the inner drum is moved while supporting the outer

Ok yes they have gone. First the lid comes off then consol panel then front panel and door seal band. Remove heater box then remove pins in suspension legs unclip sump remove top weight bottom weight. Drum lifts out the split the drum by the torx screws x17. Remove motor and pulley and front plate hit rear drum surport so inner drum pops out. The drift out bearings front and rear ones check drum support for wear drift in new bearings and reasemble. If you can't get bearings out new rear half needed check if they are 30 mm or 35 mm. Failing that parts and labour for new drum from hotpoint is £110.00 all in.
