Hi. I'm hoping someone can help! I put some washing in my Hotpoint WMF740 and turned the dial to program 9; then decided to use program 5 instead, and so turned dial accordingly. However, the digital settings remained the same (1:48, 40 degrees, and 800 spin cycle) as for program 9. I then started the program anyway, and hit pause. Tried turning the machine off and then on again; then at the wall. Whatever I do, the only program that will run appears to be program 9.
Incidentally, when the program did finish, the door was stuck shut; we managed to open it by jiggling some string around the door frame and triggering the lock.
What can I do so that turning the dial enables me to change the program? How can I do it?
