I have a 25ft conifer with a pretty skinny trunk that i want cut down (i could do it but cant be bothered with endless trips to the tip!). I got a guy coming round to quote but wondered what was considered a reasonable price?

£1million. (Actually I would do you a 2-for-1 offer, so you could have 2 trees done for the same price).

Will you be asking him to remove it as well, or just chop it off at the ground?

Oh, in that case the price would be £1.35million, without the 2-for-1 offer.

you do get some helpful people on here

the price will vary depending on the access to the tree, do you want the roots taken out etc etc

trees aren't that cheap to get removed and the price can depend on a lot of factors. without seeing it then it's hard to give a price but as a rought guide a neightbour was charged £400 to get a 35ft conifer removed and £1100 to get a birch tree (much bigger) removed
