How to do this fence (maybe 1 for Thermo?)

I need a bit of advice on building a fence on soft ground.

I have an approx 12" gap between my drive (paviours) and my neighbour's boundary wall. It's a single-brick 30" wall on his side of the boundary and he won't allow it to be built up so I want to build a 2m fence along my side of the boundary to give privacy. The ground between my drive and his wall is quite soft because of digging for his foundations and planting bedding plants. Also it's up to about 8" lower than my drive in places due to aligning levels between my garage and the road.

I'm concerned that the fence won't be solid enough and might rock and cause his wall to crack or tilt. Advice? (Yes - I know, change the neighbour).

dig the posts to a minimum of 1/3 rd the depth of their height and concrete them well in, should be fine.

concrete posts are great and don't rot

You will hate to replace rotten wooden posts one day with all that work.

You can also use concrete gravel boards for the difference in level.

he he he he he. They dont rot, they spall as the rebar rusts.

A couple of coats of masonry paint protects it.

Did I tell you about mine?
