How to fasten oak sleeper fire surround?

Screw to rear of 'legs' and leave protruding to rear and bury in plasterwork securing to wall then make good.
The legs support the weight of the top so again plate to rear [2-3 depending on size]and screw to timer then bury exposed section in wall secure with screws and plug and make good, this prevents the top rolling off or movement.
Metalwork running behind legs upward behind the top do no need burying since they are hidden by the top.
