HP Pavilion ze4500 slow processor

hey all i've got a pavilion ze4500

the processor speed is a 1.8ghz confirmed in bios but for some reason windows xp says it's only a 519mhz

any help guys?!?!

mmmm the laptop just seems to run slow all the time.. it's not been the same sinse it come back from the repair shop last year...

There could be a number of reasons why it is slow.

Did my previous post resolve the incorrect reporting issue?

If you can provide as much detail in your posts as possible, we might be able to assist further.

What was the nature of the repair?
All service packs installed?
What anti-virus/spyware apps. do you have?
Have you performed general housekeeping tasks recently (disk cleanup/defrag for example).

just been down to my brother whos a pc tech dude

he right clicked my computer, go to properties, hardware tab, click on device manager, open the drop down menu, right click and go to properties, click on update driver,, select dont search, i will choose the driver to install. gives u the option to either use the windows xp setting for processors or the bios setting
