Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good quality metal file for filing stainless steel?
Do I need a diamond file?
It needs to very good quality as it will be used alot.
Thanks for any help or advise you can give.
John
As ever you get what you pay for.....many having their origins in the Orient.
Just my opinion but I have some Bahco files, and paid around a tenner for a 12" bastard cut, typically.
It still works well, but is probably down to a second cut now.

As John says, a good quality file should do it. If I were you I'd keep that file or files just for stainless. It's a cutting tool. Don't drop it onto other tools, or keep it loose in a toolbox with other files or tools, and keep it clean with a file card.
