Hi,

My folks have a 3 year old ideal isar HE35.
Wouldn't start properly yesterday and unit comes up with three horizontal lines on the display alternating with a "0"
My folks switched the unit off and left it for a couple of hours.
Took off front cover and powered up and divertor valve is functioning,
get a "4" on display and burner light both on for maybe half a second
should the fan start up immediately as this does not appear to be running.
Will not reset either.
Looking at either the fan or a faulty pcb - any ideas folks?

inside the combustion chamber there is a dry fire stat that most likely is faulty or pump is defective you can test the stat as its a thermister reading ohms.

my guess is it the heat exchanger may be leaking onto the thermister contacts

CIRCULATION PROBLEM, PUMP BLOCKED HEAT EX
PCB OR FAN WOULD MAKE NO DIFF,

YOU NEED SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND NOT SCARED OF THIS BOILER

combustion chamber ? on this range of fit and regret boilers.
surley the front case panel on these ideal my home is cold is only a cover to ensure air is drawn from outside flue only and to prevent noise from room where it is situated.
to open the combustion area on this ideal not is a job many registered engineers will only do at the last resort.

have had many different  boilers in rented houses some better than others.

You really need somone who is not scared of this boiler. Know of many an engineer who will not go near them. Generally though it is the usual suspects and really not that scary.
