If the UK leaves the EU, will the nominal voltage be changed back to 240v?

If the UK leaves the EU, do you think the nominal voltage will be increased from 230v to 240v?

The other day I was listing to a chat radio station and they were debating about whether we should or should not leave the EU. If we do end up leaving the EU, do you think the official nominal voltage in the UK will ever be re-increased from 230v to 240v along with everything else Europe has changed with our electrical standards?

What do you think?

Maybe, maybe not. Australia I believe changed their nominal to 230v and they are not in the EU.

Either way it won't matter as the actual voltage in the UK never changed anyway.

No, for the whole reasons of CENELEC, claimed "necessity" of European trade even if outside the EU, etc. As for the colors, it would be the same reasons trotted out for not changing them back, despite the fact that the "old" system was far better. And remember that while fixed cable colors changing is a recent thing, the beginning of the change started back before the U.K. joined what was then the EEC anyway.

Like someone used over 400 years ago?

Things change.
