Hi,

I've got an ikea whirlpool dishwasher that's about 7 seven years old. After cleaning the filter a while ago I noticed that the grey hose thing that looks like it feeds water to the spray arms was always out of the filter/base at the bottom at the end of a wash.

I've been getting around the problem by just pushing it back in before starting the machine each time, but apart from getting pretty fed up of having to do that, I've now got a problem with smelly tap water which united utilities suggests could be coming from the connection to the dishwasher.

I don't know if the two problems are related but want to fix the loose grey water feeder thing anyway, could anybody tell me what I need to do?

Thanks

The simple answer to stop the feed pipe from popping out of the base is to secure it with a small rust-free self tapper at the rear. This is the workaround recommended by Whirlpool before the modified they the assembly design. To avoid cracking the pipe use an awl to make an entry hole before inserting the screw. For obvious reasons make sure to use a rust-free screw. You will find plenty of solutions on the drain issue by using the search function & type in "Whirlpool F4" or "Whirlpool 4 flashes". Good luck....
