Can anyone tell me what gauge of cable and flex is normally used for immersion heaters?
i.e. CU to switch and switch to heater?

2.5mm T/E from the CU to the FCU but no longer than 30m.
From the FCU to the heater I have read somehwre but can't find it that heat resistant cable is necessary but I don't believe it is in the Regs so may have just been a recommendation.

If that is the case then 13a T/E Flex will do the trick.

Unless someone else knows different.

Assuming there is a 13amp fuse in the FCU, and the element is 3kW power rating, 1.5.sq.mm flex will do fine between FCU and element.
