Improving Victorian Sash windows to K or not to K?

Hi,

I've draughtproofed my Victorian sashes by routing in brush strips etc where required but they are still single pane and even if I were to rout out the rebates, they still would not be deep enough to accept double glazed units to the correct BS.

Therefore my question is: Is there any point in replacing the exisitng 3mm Victorian float glass with single glazed Pilkington K/Planitherm in order to improve heat retention?

I've done a bit more digging and I've found this, results of testing by Glasgow Caledonian University.

This is the information you need when deciding if its worth spending daft amounts of money on double glazing, especially 'platinum priced' low E glass!
