check the heater with a meter could also be themo cut out broken ,next the heater.
 
I know it's an old thread but I've just had this problem and managed to find the culprit:

1. Take the top off the washer to reveal the heater
2. There is a pink wire with a yellowish sleeve that is clamped with one screw. This sleeve hid a break in the wire. I removed the whole wire to fix the break and everything is fine again.
