IS IT OK TO TILE ONTO BROWNING?

If its small patched in areas then you can if you prime it with acrylic primer first,if its large areas then it needs a skim.
 
depends how small, tiny areas you can go straight onto.

Browning isn't hard enough to allow the tile adhesive to get a proper grip.

but if its only tiny patches not a problem.

What do you call tiny? And does this definition of tiny vary with the size of tile?
