Im planning on tiling the kitchen floor which is concrete. I pulled all the Lino up and it had some sort of old vinyl tiles stuck to the floor. I pulled them up and most of them came away very easy but others have left a slight film of rubbery adhesive there.

What I want to know is would it be ok to just prime over all this and then go ahead and tile or do I need to somehow get all this up?

I did try using a hand wire brush on it but it didn't really come off. Any ideas? The tiles are porcelain if that makes a differance

It should be fine providing the residue is stable. I often get a heat gun to lift up this type of adhesive, it would be worth have good ventilation and a respirator though, as it can be quite wiffy!

Also, be careful with those old tiles, they might contain asbestos.

Oh too late just ripped them all up. Hopefully there wasn't, they didn't give of any dust or anything when broken but who knows.

I tried the heat gun on the adhesive before and it didn't budge it one bit, in fact didn't even affect it all didn't even burn

check your adhesives data sheet or if you want to be really sure apply a thin coat of arditex Na
