Is planning Permission needed ?

I have a brick built shed to the side of the property. Can the kitchen be extended into existing shed and knocked through without planning permission. It won't extend the overall footprint of the building by much as the shed is already there.

The bit you extend and the shed combined would count as an extension, thee are limits: http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/permission/commonprojects/extensions/

Don't forget that whether you need planning or not you will need building regs as you're extending habitable space into non habitable space..
