I'm thinking of getting this drill for some heavy drilling I need to do. The first thing is to drill into some concrete lintels to attach curtain poles and I may use it to take break down some ornamental brick work in our living room too but I am also wondering if it is OK for regular drilling aswell i.e. lower power work, say drilling into wood or medium dense stuff i.e.. not concrete lintels. The reason for asking is that I am hoping it could replace my old drill (not sds) that I've used for everything to date, or is this SDS drill too powerful? What do you reckon?

Buy both, they're cheap enough theses days. Get a battery drill for the other stuff.

yes agree with joe
a battery hammer drill will do screwing drilling and masonary with the sds for the heavy stuff

sds needs 2 hands so heavy and un ballanced
battery drill one handed and ballanced
