hi im not a good diy person in fact im rubbish, im thinking of getting spacia vinyl floor tiles for my haalway is 4060 width by 1800 length. my livingroom 7000 by 3530 ive looked on the internet and have found the tiles i want they will cost roughly 900 pound. ive been quoted of a so called mate 2000 pound to buy the tiles and fit them for me , in other words 1100 pound just for 2 days labour. is this a rip off

The obvious answer is to get another couple of quotes from specilaist fitters and compare.
 
Can I strongly suggest that you browse through this section of the board and carefully read the horror story`s from people who have gone down a similar route....

This flooring is expensive because of the skills required to fit it correctly.

Too many "blokes in the pub" claim to be experts, the trouble is they have long gone when the floor starts lifting....

Do as mointainwalker advises and get at least two alternative quotes, please make sure that these are from good reputable independant retailers who specialise in LVT flooring.

Buying the tiles is usually less than half the total cost, Does your "mate" have the necessary experience to actually do the job?? He is charging you slightly under the going rate that any good shop would charge (dependant on geographic area)
