kenmore washer timer dial came off

This is the dial that you use to turn the machine on/off and select which program of washing you want to run.

It somehow came off, can't figure out how to get it back on.

I can operate the machine by pulling the screw it sits on out with pliers, and dialing it around. Any suggestions for how this would go back on? Thanks.

You've very limited chances of getting a sensible reply to your question on this forum which is intended primarily for UK consumers. I've never even heard of Kenmore.
