Any idea how I can sort this?

I have tried fishing it out with a removal tool but cant get anything else in, the broken piece is too tight.

wonder if you could use a small amount of super glue and push in the other bit to try are remove it?

you can't get to the inside?

You could drill it out. I'm no expert and find the steel pins usually break the drill. But going through the brass plug is fairly easy.

Just noticed I can pull the timber away to reveal the screws for the hinges.

I could hacksaw through them? Is this going to be easier than drilling?

yeas you can drill through it,it looks like a yale type cylinder.
then you can insert a flat bladed screwdriver and gain access.

i bet all your tools are locked inside?

Right, I am in now. Screwdriver and hammer worked.

How can I replace this lock? It has a plate on the inside of the door.

It had a "nightlatch" fixed to this plate, If I buy a new one will it come with a plate? Or will a new Yale one fit this old plate?

Cheers,

Mick

a new lightlatch will come with a new fixing plate. Measure the distance from the edge of the door to the centre of the keyhole and buy the same backset (usually 40mm or 60mm), that will save you having to cut a new hole for the cylinder.l

You might consider a BS nightlatch next time which is more thief-resistant.
