Kitchen pelmet

Hello all,

I was looking at kitchen pelmet and while looking at the built kitchen examples in wickes and b and q it just looked like 2 x 4 attached, could i just get some 2 by 4 and make my own pelmets ? just seemed like a border on their examples to hide the lights etc.

4 x 2in? Seems a bit OTT, that. Or did you mean 40 x 20mm MDF? In which case yes, a simple rip of 18mm MR-MDF (you don't get 20mm) with the arrisses broken (i.e. the sharp edges sanded to remove the worst of the sharpness), the exposed edges sanded tp P120 and then painted to match would do the job. Normally fixed in place with something like modesty (mod.) blocks. Your cutting needs to be bang on straight, though

yes not 2 by 4 more like 2inch by 2inch.
