Kitchen wall - tile up to ceiling or not?

My kitchen rebuild is finally getting to the closing stages, and I have to make a decision about the wall behind the main counter-top. Should I tile it all the way to the ceiling, or just part of the way up? If I do this, I'd then either need to skim the rest of the wall, or perhaps put on some beaded wood cladding.

I've still got to make a small half depth cabinet that will sit on top of the fridge/freezer, to the same height as the wall cabinet on the other side. After tiling, a cooker hood will be hung.

For tiles, I'll probably use a simple vintage crackle glaze type tile, though if I were to only go part of the way up, I might contemplate a geometric pattern.

Personal preference really, ours is tiled up to about 1.4, I think it would be a bit domineering if it were higher.
