Diy novice here. Have just received 2 additional kitchen wall units, 2 years after developer kitted out our kitchen. Just don't see how the supplied wall fittings work (Hattich make)! No instructions were supplied.

Have metal brackets already fixed to the back of the unit at the top to the sides, there is a metal plate wedged between them, but not fixed. How are the brackets meant to fix to the metal plate? If the metal plate is fixed to a wooden baton on the pasterboard, then surely the unit will then not be flush to the wall and stick out? Is the unit meant to be lowered down so that the brackets hook onto the metal plate and it just hangs there?

Am very confused. All advice appreciated.

I think you'll find that you have two adjusting screws on the bracket on the cupboard. One allows you to adjust the height the other will pull the lip that goes over the bracket on the wall in, therefore when adjusted there should be no gaps.
