Kitchen worktop install

I'm installing one this week, it's an L shape.

I've done a kitchen before but I got a friend to join the worktop but now I'm going to have a go myself.

I know this is probably a stupid question but I'm assuming I scribe one of the lengths to the wall AND THEN fit the unscribed length to it accordingly?

My only concern is what if both walls are out of square ... how do I ensure a uniform overhang ?

Can someone talk me through the process ?
