Not at all. A quick £1k or so of the sale price, depending on the extent of the work is much more common, and much more useful to a buyer than any indemnity policy.

We very rarely recommend such s policy, but the risk of buying a property with unauthorised work has a value to a buyer.

We're not talking about unauthorised work. We're talking about unauthorised considering whether to improve the insulation, then not doing it.
