hi when cutting the sink hole in a laminate worktop,do you cut from the laminate side or turn it over and cut from under side.

if its a slot in sink, i just cut from the laminate side as the lip of the sink will cover any chips,
also don't forget to seal the exposed wood after cutting with silicone
 
all the joiners on the last contract i was on cut them from the bottom using circular saws as near the corner as they could go then turned them over and finished the cut with a jigsaw, they said it was by far the quickest and most accurate way as circular saws cut straighter

Using a jigsaw with a blade which cuts on the down stroke there is no need to turn them over.
 
do not cut from the bottom with a jigsaw
if you do and the blade wanders you may finnish up with the hole bigger by 10mm or so

also with pendulum on on a good machine cutting from underneath will be several mm bigger on the face side
