Just finished 3 very large raised beds .. ( well large for me at 65 sq m) - will be facing outer face with wood, looking for a top 'coping'

Just been on holiday in Canaries, and noticed that they use sawn and finished (but not polished) Lava rock.
Obviously as they have an abundance of the stuff.

This looks superb, and as it has plenty of holes (like an aero bar) thus has a pleasing varied texture.
Watched them fitting some on new pool, and they bed it on a 'no more nails equiv' and butt joint it up against it's neighbour - no pointing, and joints are as good as a sawn wood joint.

They used it for coping stones around swimming pools, only about 30mm thick, with neat rounded edge, as well as in rougher format for walling.

Anybody know if this is available in UK. ?

Secondly if nobody is aware of this in UK ... any suggestions for a coping ... don't want to use decking planks (which was a suggestion), and concrete copings would look poor.
Also need something that can be stood on if need be.

Looking for flat top and about 200mm wide. Will need to cover 45 linear metres.

not sure what the budget is, how about travertine? Looks very good as a coping. Youre looking at about £35 m2 plus vat. you only need 9 m2.

There are ways of making "hypertufa" - vermiculite, peat and cement. This will be cheaper and you can make it to shape.
