Tried to grow some from seed, germinated ok, but couldn't keep them alive. I've now ordered plug plants but received a note today that they will be sent in September. Is June a bad month forplanting them? or does the company selling them not have any?

You will get them in a nursery potted, depends how many you are wanting. Potted they will be about £3

I remember my Grandma saying that lavender seeds were for smelling not planting.

You should plant lavender plants in May into well drained soil. Prune back almost immediately for a later lustrous bush.

Great herb but needs to be tended well or will get out of control.
