Depends entirey on the tap.....
Often a tiny allen key, possibly under a plastic brand insert or similar

I tried inserting and turning the alan key but only a quarter turn that allowed a little movement. certainly no possibility of disassembly. I took to plumbers merchant who sold new interior ceramic fitments but they couldn't open a mixer tap either. I'm still stuck as I bought two new taps but our plumber has told us that to change them we would have to take all the tiling off the wall take the sinks of etc etc as the builder has boxed everything in. It's only a leaking tap!!!
If you could advise me further I would be grateful.
Cheers so far
