There are 8 low voltage downlighters(spots) in the kitchen ceiling, fitted only last month and so far 3 transformers(230 to 12v) have broke/burned out. Each l.v lamp is 50 watt.Any idea as to what may be causing this?
the ceiling area is heavily insulated and maybe thats smothering the transformers, thats all i can think of...Any advice/opinions? Thanks lads

answered your own question.

those "transformers" should never be covered with anything and should always have a large space around them

Just making sure..i was worrying maybe there was a loose neutral somewhere or something more serious.I'll just have to make space to allow them to breath

check the wattage rating of the transformers to make sure they suit lamps, yes uncover all transformers and make sure insulation batons are also not covering lamps. also check to make sure only one lamp is running on one transformer not ganged up to save money.
