Main earthing conductor

Afternoon all,
I have an old metal clad consumer unit rewirable type that is going to be replaced, the main earthing conductor is a length of flat metal (same colour as the cu so imagine it is part of the cu from new 30 odd years ago)it goes from the side of the cu down to the incomer armoured sheath (tncs ?) where it is nut & bolted with a clamp, what I would like to know is; How is the new 16mm main earthing conductor from the new cu to be attatched on to the incomer armoured sheath ?
