Hi, i,ve removed carpets and gripper rods and the Marley floor tiles have broken and come away. I want to have Karndean flooring fitted and wonder what the best solution is for replacing and making good the missing bits of tile next to the skirting boards ? Can i still buy the old tiles ? (1970`s) bungalow.
Thanks in advance for any advice.[/b]

Don't panic! They are considered a low risk but many Marley tiles contain asbestos. Just be aware of this when working, for that reason using a filler and sanding down might not be a good idea.

Best to speak to your floor layer and ask for their suggestion, they may even say leave it up to them they must come across it frequently.

I had some that had come up completely I replaced them with self adhesive vinyl tiles to level out before laying a laminate floor. If you just have the broken bits where the carpet gripper was, chances are the floor layer should be able to sort it out OK.

One thing to look at is does your sub floor have a damp membrane sheet under it?
If your having karmdean you will need one
