Hi,

I am looking to cut a circular hole in a chrome electrical blanking plate but I am not sure of the correct bit to use in my drill.

The hole needs to be between 25-30mm so a regular drill bit won't be big enough to do the job.

This is probably a very easy question but thought best to ask the experts before I go an buy something expensive that won't work!

Thanks

Chris

Bosch progressor with cobalt teeth. Excellent bits.

If it's just the one hole would probably be cheaper dropping it off at a local engineering firm, they'll probably do it for a fiver and would only take a few minutes.

If you want a really well finished hole, with no risk of swarf scratching the face plate, then a hole punch is your best bet, but it might be too expensive for a one off.
