Minor Works

Hello All,

Working again at last !!!!!
The new Co I work for ask me to produce a minor works cert for exchanging 'like for like' fittings  , when I asked why  I was informed that because I would be interrupting the 'earth' conductor (its continuity) I need to give them a m/w cert ?? I didn't think that changing like for like would constitute a change in the characteristics of the circuit ?
Thanks for any views,
Ed.

Technically you should issue a MW, but the only paperwork a lot of sparks issue when changing lights is the bill

Regardless of whether you play by that rule or not, it'd be very rough imho to do it without giving it the quick once over with the testers, to pick up most things that could be wrong

Hello Ad,
I agree, however, a year ago when struggling 'house-bashing' I think I may a have had a slightly different outlook maybe, to be honest

I just do as I'm told now  .
Cheers, Ed.
